HEALING SERVICE: BENEFITS OF WAITING ON GOD & CONSEQUENCES OF NOT WAITING ON GOD
Greetings to you Brethren,
I am happy to write to you again as we continue from where we stopped on the theme “WAIT ON GOD”
The first service of the tenth (10th) Month October 2020 sermon started with the Church of Nigeria Hymnal “IN CHRIST ALONE”.
The scripture for the theme was obtained from Psalm 27 : 13 - 14 which reads thus “13: I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14: Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
The sermon started by revisiting the content of the last sermon which took place on the last Sunday in the month of September 2020 with the theme “WAIT ON THE LORD” by Ven. Ben. Nwokedi.
Like we were taught last Sunday that nobody has ever hurried and succeeded in life and we must allow this play into our life. Do not be in a hurry. DON’T RUSH.
We find ourselves in a generation of INSTANT GRATIFICATION where people want to do things and get answers NOW. In the world of today, a child that is born NOW wants to be a millionaire NOW.
A student who is in school and has not graduated wants to be a millionaire NOW! - A MICROWAVE GENERATION.
WAYS OF WAITING ON GOD:
1. Through the study of the word of God
2. Through Prayers
3. Sharing your life experiences with those who are waiting on God
The theme was continued with the BENEFITS OF WAITING ON GOD which are as follows;
BENEFITS OF WAITING ON GOD
When we wait on God;
1. We receive God’s clear direction for your life (Jeremiah 6:16, Proverbs 3:5-6, John 8:28, 38 John 5:19 John 9:4)
2. We keep in step with God’s timing (Ecclesiastes 3:1 Psalm 31:15)
3. God prepares us for God’s purpose in our live (Romans 8:28)
The theme continued in the second service of the day where the CONSEQUENCES OF NOT WAITING ON GOD was taught.
The theme ended with the healing service proper which started with healing prayers that commenced immediately after the sermon.
